World Book Day - Vocabulary Parade!

We saw lots of fantastic costumes on Thursday in our dress up day. Staff and children entered into this year’s theme with great gusto! It was fantastic to see the imaginative and creative ways ordinary objects could be transformed into something spectacular! Mr Emmett did an assembly in the morning, where there was a children versus teachers quiz. Unsurprisingly, the teachers were annihilated by the amazing literary knowledge that the children possessed. We were astonished that not a single teacher in the school knew that Kingsley Amis won the Booker Prize for Literature in 1986! A fantastic day - and not only that, we learned lots of new words we can use when we are speaking or writing!
