How To make a woolly mammoth?

In the Spring term Class 3 are learning about the Stone Age to the Iron Age so children in English we have been reading the book - 'How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth'.  To further their instruction writing the children in Class 3 all designed their woolly mammoth in DT choosing the materials that they wanted to use and how they wanted it to look. Christmas Activity Morning

We had a lovely Christmas activity morning where the children and their grown ups had were able to do fun Christmas crafts. We made mini woolly hats as a Christmas tree ornament, melted snowman biscuits, finger painted bauble balls, made hot chocolate reindeers as well as colouring in and making paper chains!

Anti-Bullying week

This year the theme for anti-bullying week is 'reach out', as a class we discussed what bullying is, who can help us and how can we reach out for help.

In PSHE, we did some roleplay in class and acted out bullying scenes and who we could go to for help. The children created a freeze frame to portray this. Also, the children drew around their hands and wrote 5 people they could reach out to if they were being bullied.

Harvest Festival

We have learned about harvest traditions in Class 3 - we found out about where our food comes from, and why harvest was such an important time and an occasion for celebration. We baked bread, made butter, created corn dollies and collage of fruit and vegetables. We learned harvest songs then shared our learning with other classes and some of our families at a special harvest assembly.
