Our ethos statement was influenced by the voices of pupils, teachers and parents, as well as by governors representing the wider community. It demonstrates our commitment to valuing the uniqueness of all, listening to what they have to say and involving them in decisions about the school’s life and future. It also reflects our belief that effective learning and high achievement are founded on caring relationships. We want those relationships to be as strong as possible so that Swinnow Primary School pupils are inspired to be independent life-long learners.
- We are adventurous and enjoy our learning
- We persevere and stay positive
- We are confident to be the best we can
- We care about ourselves, others and the world.
At Swinnow, children learn about 'British Values' in a way that is appropriate to their age. This is done through assemblies, circletime, PSHE lessons and our everyday interactions with children. We focus on values such as co-operation, caring, equality and respect.
